RSM Melbourne is currently looking to hire an Assistant Manager to join our Restructuring and Recovery division. As an Assistant Manager you will work across both personal and corporate insolvency projects while having responsibility for junior staff. Within these projects you will assist in financial analysis, restructuring projects and investigative work and dealing with multiple stakeholders in a team that offers the full suite of insolvency and restructuring services.

Position Summary

Conducts small appointments, assists in planning and control of medium to larger appointments and supervises junior staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts interviews of directors/bankrupts
  • Attends premises to assist with trade on of a business and prepares budgets and forecasts
  • Liaises with lawyers, agents, auctioneers
  • Oversees and coordinates realisation of assets of a company or individual
  • Monitors statutory deadlines
  • Shares knowledge, best practices and industry market trends to actively increase the overall knowledge of the team.
  • Reviews work of junior team members. 
  • Ensure processing of information into the Firms systems has been properly recorded.
  • Identifies, researches and resolves all complex issues.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
  • Law degree (LLB or JD) with an interest in Insolvency

Desirable

  • Demonstrated involvement with technical insolvency forums/training
  • Completed CA or equivalent if holding an accounting degree
  • Completed the ARITA Advanced Certification if holding a law degree

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:

Essential

  • 4-6 years’ experience in Professional Services 
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Strong networking skills
