We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team and contribute to the efficient financial management of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Process invoices and expenses and ensure timely payments to vendors and staff.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and record receipts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate and analyse financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
  • Prepare financial statements for review by management.
  • Extract relevant information for preparation of FBT return
  • Prepare quarterly BAS statement
  • Identify areas for cost-saving and process improvement.
  • Prepare documentation and support for internal and external audits. Collaborate with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.

Education Requirements:

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Completion of TAFE or Business College administration course

Demonstrated Experience & Attributes

  Essential.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero, Workday) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a financial planning practice.
  • Experience with Workday software
