Position Summary:

This is a key position of the division with responsibility for effectively managing financial reporting and technical accounting projects and staff. High requirements of research, planning and delivering technical and financial reporting solutions. Audit managers also have a responsibility for extensive client contact, staff training and liaising with third parties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and address technical accounting and financial reporting issues;
• Perform review of technical accounting and financial reporting advice;
• Reviews of financial statements to ensure compliance with Accounting Standards and preparation of reports and opinions to management;
• Summarises the key areas of the engagement for the partner;
• Ensures completion of each assignment to a high quality standard, within budget and on or before deadlines;
• Experience in conducting various audit engagements simultaneously with numerous engagement team members per audit;
• Together with partner negotiates fees and demonstrates commercial responsibility for profitability of each client;
• Contributes to meetings and is able to make effective presentations to staff and clients;
• Assisting with management and co-ordination of the team including training, mentoring and methodology compliance;
• Monitors staffing requirements and future resource planning issues; and
• Assists partners in business development and marketing activities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

• Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major
• Completed CA or equivalent

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:

Essential

• 5-7 years’ experience of external audit experience 
• Detailed working knowledge and application of Corporations Act, IFRS / Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards and other applicable legislation
• Strong communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong prioritising skills
• Demonstrate problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
